Right now we only have a few European brands represented, are there any others that the users want to see? Saab, Volvo, etc?
Let us know, this is a work in progress that will evolve with the users interests.

Personally I would like to see how other people have modified 99-2004 Volvo S40s. As far as S40's go s40concepts.com carlos' S40 is probably the most modified / famous S40 out there. But I would really like to see features on how others have upgraded their engines, suspensions, interiors; basically eurotuned their Volvo. To this day they only tried and tested suspension it seems is the KW coilover kit. I have some rubbing issues with my 215/45R17's which I thougt shouldn't have had a problem since the sport package had a 215/50R16's. I'm affraid to lower it because I think it may rub even more. I would like to see how or which computer upgrades and turbo upgrades work together. I would really like to see something other than an Audi or VW even though I own a VW Jetta also. A Volvo S40 2001 - 2004 is fairly cheap, making it a great used car option for tuners looking for an alternative with better features than a civic.

Skoda. I live in Canada, And I always get the feeling im the only person in North America with a Skoda product.
Volvo, Saab's, Peugeouts, Renaults, Citroens, Alfa Romeo's, Maserati, Fiat, Lancia, Lada, Opel, Yugo, MG, etc...
More variety would be nice.

I would like to see SAAB represented here, since the body style change of the 9-3 and with the performance of the cars its really a wonder why their not on here now.

WELL personally right now I have big plans for well a pretty big car, its my volvo 240 (1989). In the past and from other people Ive seen some prety nice additions, but Im having a heck of a time to find the providers of all these parts or more variety to see what else I can do. Now yes I realize its an older car and boxy but to me boxy is good... well at least for the car... anyways if anyone out there has any links to good ideas for parts, pics, etc PLEASE let me know. Now I know of the usual like brickboard and IPD but any others would be a big help. Some of my plans include the 5.0L V8 conversion... if you know 240s you know what I mean... for those who dont then essentially it makes pretty close to the best sleeper I know of so if there is anyone who can help me out e-mail me at f17_2000@hotmail.com Ill say thank-you in advance! OH yeah and if there could be more Volvo representation it would be great (especially older gen. models) -Evan

saab should definitely be represented. the 900 and 9-3(i have 2001 9-3)2.0 turbo are great light cars with around 200 hp, and a good used one isn't that expensive. there are also many good power upgrades and it's a good looking car. enough said.

I think Saab should be represented as well. along with the 2 posts before me. i own a 98 900 2.0l turbo tuned to stage 2. matter of fact ill be stage 3 once i get my turbo-back =-) any who, having a saab with 250hp at stage 2 is pretty good if you ask me.. i love that car so much. saabs have so much potential and it would be great if more people realized it.

The problem for us as a magazine is that while we'd love to feature every kind of European car out there, we also have to appeal to the majority of eurotuner readers. And the majority drive VWs. In second place is BMW, followed by Audi. After that, the other European car makes represent a small percentage of our readership. That said, we do attempt to cover every type of car out there, but it's not always possible to find examples that are modified to the extent or standard our readers expect. I think our record with Volvo is actually pretty good. We probably feature more than any other mag out there. We also do Minis, Beetles and Mercedes more than most of our competitors. Our philosophy on eurotuner is that if somebody has the right car, we will feature it. So if you have a tastefully and extensively modified Saab, Volvo or whatever it might be, let us know. You can email photos and a list of modifications to eurotuner@sourceinterlink.com

Why not try adding an odd car in every issue (assuming there are good candidates). Maybe something less usual (like not VAG or BMW or Porsche), or something vintage, or something actually from the UK or europe. I'm not suggesting you include a Merkur, but maybe a nice old 2002, or a modded Renault or Peugot, or a old Ford Cortina race car... you get the idea.
I know that you have to "appeal" to the majority of your readers, but I think you seriously underestimate whether readers would appreciate something a little different every now and again. What happens now is one of two things, either you get a bunch of cars that are very similar in their customization, with similar appearance and performance modifications, or you get the situation where the bar is constantly raised and boundaries are pushed to the point where the majority of your readers can't relate anymore which actually diminishes their interest.
The trick is balance... a bit of this, a bit of that, all mixed in with your wider mass appeal stuff. And enthusiasts always like to learn about a different kind of car than their own, compare/contrast, look for ideas, and get a different perspective on design and enginieering approaches. And enthusiasts always value historical info, like stuff about old racing series and car development, etc. Just an extension of the good stuff you guys already do but with a bit broader historical and contextual view. I mean don't you guys get bored writing about all the same stuff anyway?
