i remember when it was fun...

workin on our cars in the heat and in the cold, money or none, sweat and blood...not because of what we wanted other people to see...but because of how we wanted to represent ourselves...

now, that my friends and i have been in the vw world for over 10 years...it all is fizzleing away...now we have featured cars in the this mag and others...it all just seems like a game of catch up...whos got the newest setup...whats everyone else doing

i remember when it was fun..when i put euro bumpers on my mk 3 and people were doggn me for spending the cash on such an "unnoticable" upgrade...and i didnt give a ***

and now the vanity and braggin rights are what have taken over...it makes me sick...im sure ill have alot of negative comments for this post...but i dont care...i love volkswagens, always have...always will

but this new found "build the perfect feature car" makes me sick...

do something for yourself people...build what you love...do it for yourself
and if you dont believe in that...

buy a *** honda  

I feel yah on it..thats why my next car I build will be for myself and not for sponsor reasons.

I fell the same way, even though I haven't been lucky enough to grace the pages of Eurotuner YET! I have an 88 Rocco 16v, thats my project beater! I try things on it and do things I would not dare do to my GTI. This is my hobby because I love it!  

It was a hobby that i love but ever since I started working..its been a little dragging to see a modified euro =(  

I like gettin sponsored and showing But I do it cuase of how I want my car to look and perform and Its my money, my blood sweat tears and time that goes in. SO although i enjoy showing and doing as much as possible i still do it for myself not 2 be seen but see what I have acomplishded. So keep modding and do what you do.and do it just for you Screw the other people that do it 2 show off and not be part of the culture.

remember when you look at your car...that is a canvas...not for others to see...but for you to portray your cision...

i dont want to make the vw "scene" to be more artsy than it may seem

but really...thats why we do it...we are artists, perfecting our pieces, not for social gain...but personal
