Volkswagen has unveiled its updated 2007 Touareg, with revised front and rear fascias, and interior refresh that includes new seats and a new Dynaudio sound system, reports Trend.
Up front, the 2007 Touareg’s refreshed front fascia includes Eos-style headlamps, VW’s corporate chrome grille, updated bumper air intakes are now split by metallic strips and new foglights integrated in the lower bumper. The 2007 Touareg also gets a new hood and front fenders. Out back, the taillamps, bumper, rear spoiler and exhaust have all been refreshed.
The 2007 Touareg will feature new and revised technology, including ABSPlus and enhanced ESP (including new features such as Active Rollover Protection). The system shortens the braking distance by up to 20% on loose driving surfaces. New features have been added to the ESP, these include Active Rollover Protection (ARP), rain brake support, fading brake support and understeer control logic, which improves the turning behaviour in the event of understeer.
The 2007 Touareg (for the U.K.) is available with either a 280-hp 3.6L V6 gas engine or one of three diesels including a 2.5L TDI with 174-hp, a 3.0L V6 TDI with 225-hp and the range-topping 5.0L V10 TDI with 313-hp. In other parts of Europe, the Touareg will also be available with a direct injection V8 FSI developing 350-hp and a 450-hp W12. We expect the 2007 Touareg for North America will be offered with a V6 and V8 gas engines, and the V10 TDI.
The updated 2007 Volkswagen will be officially unveiled at the Paris Motor Show next week.
