For the 1.8T, take a look at our tuning guide for exhaust suggestions: http://www.eurotuner.com/techarticles/eurp_0706_volkswagen_engine_tuning/index.html

Unfortunately for the 2.8L there aren't many options. Some Audi tuners should have products for it such as 034 Motorsport, AWE Tuning, APR, Neuspeed and Autospeed. For exhausts, try Remus or Supersprint as well. Good luck!

I dont know about the 2.8 but for my 3.0 i was having the same problems and i personally know a guy who works on car exhausts and he told me that he had cut off a few bmw's mufflers and welded on strait pipes and it sounded good. I took his advice and tryed it and i got a very noticable power increase.. and it sounds good. I wouldn't recomend doing it permanently but for awhile its not a bad thought.. cost me 40$

your best bet would be to take it to a local muffler shop and get the resonator removed, and getting it chipped, I think giac is one of the few people whom offer one for that year.
