Hey all.  First time poster here.  I recently purchased a new 2008 VW Jetta Wolfsburg Edition for my wife.
I chose this car because it is sporty, but also classy.  I want to modify it for two purposes:
#1. to look better and more original
#2. to be quicker

The car is already plenty fast enough, but I would like to make it a little bit more responsive on take off.
I definitely want to put some wicked rims on it.  I'm thinking of a wide low profile tire with possibly a chrome or silver rim.  I think my wife is partial to chrome, but I want to maintain the classy look.  I don't want it to look ghetto.  My wife also mentioned dropping it a couple inches.  I have completely lost track of the newest styles and technologies in the tuner world.
Let me tell you a little bit more about the car.  I have been able to find very little about this car on the internet.  The color is Platinum Gray.  It has the 17" alloy rims.  Automatic transmission, with a manual mode.  2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.  It is loaded with all of the goodies (leather, mp3, sunroof, etc.)
My ultimate goal is to have the most bad ass 2008 Jetta on the street.  I don't want to spend any more than $5000.

I guess my question is:
If you had $5000 to make mods to a brand new Wolfsburg Jetta, how would you spend it?

Any Links/Pics will be GREATLY APPRECIATED.  TIA!

I would chip it (APR is my preference) thats about 500 dollars...it will add an amazing amount of power/torque to the 2.0T engine without even bolting on anything or sacrificing gas mileage...that should give you what your looking for. Look into it...some of the better brands are APR tuning, REVO, and Unitronic.

you want to be careful what you do also.if you dont care about your warrenty, i would chip it like johnny said. if you do care about your warrenty, then you can put an exhaust on it and cold air intake. Volkswagen is also coming out with a new body kit called the thunder bunny body kit.

Does the warranty vary to different Dealerships because i asked if i could do pretty much anything to my car and they said nothing engine or anything electric. meaning no head/tail lights and definitely not exhaust or intake. so now i have to wait 20,000 more km to do anything i want Depressing.
