hi well i have some questions. any help would be great. well number 1 is i have a 2001 golf gti glx with the 2.8 vr6 engine and i was wondering where i could get an exhaust for about 450$. and i was also woundering what generation my car is like MKIV OR MKV. well thats all for now i have to go to work so thanks agine for helping out the new guy.

Well, one question I can answer immediately. Your Golf is a MKIV. MKV started with the 2007 models (I believe). As far as the exhaust goes, you'll just have to do some legwork (or fingerwork) and look online. Do you plan to install the exhaust yourself? If so, then you should be able to find an aftermarket muffler or cat-back kit for $450 or less. If you are going to have a local shop do it, then I suggest finding an aftermarket muffler (or not, depending on your tolerance for noise) and having them put that into place. Otherwise, they'll charge their price for the parts, which is typically a 30% markup, at least here in my area. Good luck!

thanks for the info on the model! as for the exhuast i have looked everywhere. the places that have had one for the vr6 when i have order have sent my money back and said they dont offer it for the vr6 the only place that i have found it was apr and they want like 700 for one so any other help would be awsome.
ps. i have ordered from 3 places and all have sent my money back.
