i have a 2004 vw golf 2.0, at it started to make a clicking noise, /knocking noise at 190,which is operating temp,i took it to vw and they said that its coming from the n80 purge solenoid, at that it is normal, its loud enough to hear inside the car with the windows up ,the tell me this is 100 percent ok , does any bodys vw golf do this and is it a 2.0???
also it has a air leak from the throttle body,a line coming off of it,they told me this is a controlled air leak ,that all 2.0 engines do this, does anybodys do this also?? is it normal

The knocking occurs with my 2007 gti 2.0 as well. But I don't have any air leaks.

Its a loose fuel line under the passenger side floorboard. take it too another dealer and have them check that. My 06 was doing the same thing. It just needed a new foam fitting or bushing to keep it from rattling. I took it to a few places and they told me the noise was normal, then I made the tech ride around with me and I made him stick his head right where I heard it. Finally another tech walked by and new exactly what i was trying to describe. Problem solved.
