I bought a modified 2000 TT Quattro in April and after owning almost 30 cars including a Porsche have unquestioningly decided it is the BEST car I've ever owned! I'll be keeping it a long time. I get over 30 MPG on the highway and 27-28 combined. It is the most comfortable and best handling car. It is the Denim Blue color outside and in. Heated seats are great! Buy real snow tires if you plan to use it in the winter. Mine came with Toyo Snowproxes on it. I bought some nine-spoke RS4 wheels and put General Exclaim UHP summer tires on them. Looks great and they are awesome tires.

I bought a 2000 1.8t in April this year, it has been great to me. I bought it with a lot of miles and it's still running strong at 160K. Great decision to buy a TT.

If you just look on cars.com they are extremely cheap right now, you can get a 225 quattro for literally pennies. I would go ahead and get the 225 quattro, you would have awd and an extra couple grand into it would put you well above 260hp with hardly any work.
